Default Would this Build Work Against Smiters?

Well, I just changed my Monk into a Ranger to unlock some skills before the update, Then I thought up of a Build that can stop Smiters (i think)

My Mo/R will Be a healer and I will drop Natures Renewal. Balth Aura would cost 50 Energy right? Unless they use glyph. Now I was thinking about adding 1 or 2 Energy Draining Healing monks to the team, And a shutdown Mesmer with Energy Drain. And The rest will be Air Spikers. Do you think this will give Spikers a Fair advantage over Smiters?

Natures renewal doubles the cost of maintained enchantments, like lifebond. Balth aura wouldnt be affected methinks.

It makes perm enchantments(like life bond) drain 2 energy instead of 1.

Counter to smiting: any mesmer, a good mesmer can shutdown 2 smiters easily. And if your a monk you shouldnt be bringing natures in the first place.

I think he misunderstood the effects of Nature's Renewal.

In my opinion I read a few abilities that Mesmer have that can totally (in theory) own a smiter no matter how much energy he has up. Apparently thats why Mesmers are there for folks to shutdown all casters... but they can't do it alone. They need your help too. So as it stands killing healer and prot monks is obviously a must. They are the oil that actually keeps those ele smiters safe. In the meantime Mesmers can make use of those dangerous skills for casters that disrupt them. Shutdown memsers are the best for this I think.

In my opinion smiter groups are unbeatable... just one heck well prepared.

NR still makes enchants take 2x as long to cost, same for hexes of course, so that would be the only bonus applied for your group vs a smiting build. and since smiters don't maintain many enchants if any, that little bit is useless, and very bad if your team is maintaing any.

Smiters are not unbeatable, there have been several threads floating around the past week about how to beat a smiting group. Of course it takes better teamwork than the smiting group has, and with PUGs would be difficult, but search for those threads, there is some very useful info in them.
